Hey guys,

It's been great to see some of the different jobs/intern positions. Keep posting so we can see what everyone's doing!

As for me, I've been doing a TON of driving all over Long Island. I'm getting to know the areas and since I'm in restaurant advertising sales, I know all the good places to eat. The restaurant group also handles entertainment and nightlife...so I know some great places to go for all you NY city interns looking to get out of the city a bit.

After a few weeks of training, we're (the other interns and I) finally out selling on our own and so far its been really exciting. I've landed a few small accounts and a couple big accounts and the excitement of making a sale is like nothing else. It's fun because after we land the account we manage them for the rest of the summer, so it is exciting getting to build your own client base.

Hey Everyone,

Sorry it has taken me so long to get on. It has been crazy at the agency ever since I arrived! I am working at Doe Anderson in Louisville, Kentucky. Although Louisville is not as exciting as New York or Austin, I am still having a great time.

I am working in account services, so I get to experience all aspects of the agency. Since I have been here, I have been on 3 commercial shoots and several print ad shoots. I am mainly working on the Norton Healthcare account, which is great because I am working on a degree in communications with a healthcare emphasis. I already have my certification in PR, editing and integrated communications, which has really helped me so far.

Doe is a great place to be. They have some great accounts including Maker's Mark. I am looking forward to the rest of my time here.

Hey everyone from rainy Austin, TX. It never rains in Austin in the summer until I get here that is...I don't think it will ever stop!

I do not know when our pictures/information will be posted on the Stickell page however, I have set up a group on Facebook. The group is called 2007 Stickell Interns (creative I know!). Feel free to join and we can all get to know each other.

This Weekend and 2 Questions

Hey guys,

Just checking in from the west coast. This weekend was packed. On Friday we went to a taping of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Then we snuck backstage and met Jay, Cedric the Entertainer and Chip Foose (host of Overhaulin'). Now, I'm a huge Conan O'Brien fan, but it was still awesome to meet Jay. Saturday was a full day at Universal Studios and I spent Sunday playing volleyball down at Hermosa Beach. Hopefully I can upload some pics up here in the near future.

Couple questions -
Does anyone know when our photos and profiles will be up on the Stickell Internship main page?

Has anyone created a facebook group for us Stickells?

Greetings

My name is Tom McAdams and I am interning at McCann Erickson in NYC. This fall I will be a senior Advertising and Psychology double major at Penn State. When I'm not at school I live in a little suburb outside of Philadelphia named Richboro that 3 years ago was named the "4th Best Place to Raise Children" so I guess my parents did a good job with the choice, but it was pretty boring. Living in New York is much more my speed.

So far I've taken advantage of a few thing the city offers, like free concerts, gallery openings and even a METS game (they were playing the Phillies...and we won!).

Hi, I'm Andrea Schneider, and I'm interning at Ogilvy & Mather in New York City. Although I've only been here a week and a half, I've already had amazing opportunities at the agency. I'm working account management on Unilever's Hellmann's/Best Foods and Wish-Bone campaigns. I'm lucky to be involved in everything from coordinating the brand strategy to sitting in a studio watching a commercial voice-over be laid down and mixed. We have some things in the works that I'm excited to share with you all soon (we're almost there).

There's an added interest for me being here in the East because I grew up all over the West. I go to the University of Oregon, but I grew up in southern California and was raised in Idaho. There are about 45 interns here (the farthest West thus far hailing from Texas ;), and we have been grouped to work in six teams on a new campaign pitch for a real client.

I can't wait to learn more and hopefully explore with my fellow big-apple Stickells. Since I travel from updown to midtown each day along Broadway, I thought this would be appropriate. If you find yourself getting a bit directionally disoriented (like me) in your new city, Google Street View may be worth a look.

My name is Megan Dusnik and I attend Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan. I am an advertising major with certificates in Business to Business Marketing and Direct Marketing.

I am interning this summer in New York City, NY at BBDO Worldwide. I am in Account Services for Lowe's. So far I am IN LOVE with this city and all of the people. I am having the time of my life and seeing celebs!

I'm interning at Digital Pulp, a web-focused agency in New York. Attending Temple University, I study advertising, art direction, french, and other fun and invigorating subjects. Ohio is my suburban birthplace, so I relish (almost) all that is urbane. I look forward to lots of Nuts4Nuts, learning more about web design, and having an overall stellar experience this summer amidst some wonderfully welcoming people.

My name is Ellen Cox and I'm an advertising management major at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. Although I go to school in Ohio, I'm originally from the Chicago suburbs.

This summer, my Stickell internship brought me to the live music capital of the world and the home of GSD&M at Idea City. I'm spending the summer as an account service intern for the Norwegian Cruise Line account. The NCL team is great, and I am quickly learning the ins and outs of the cruise industry.

I love account service because I get to interact with almost every facet of the agency.

In my free time I'm falling in love with the city of Austin and doing my best to not let the summer pass too quickly.
